For this project I wanted to explore the concept of a room, instead of 4 walls and a ceiling, I wanted to break that. I wanted to explore how an open space can make you feel isolated, and I remembered I piece I had already made. In 2022 I made a 6 painting piece that depicted me, a bathtub, and this frozen forest entitled "988". The piece was originally made for me to express my own seasonal depression, derealization, and this unrelenting feeling of being unable to call for help, and I felt I could create these feelings in a 4D space. I created a towering wall of trees, a short clear path, and a bathtub illuminated by the small clearing in the sky. I kept the lighting dark to emphasize the appeal of the bathtub and turned other ambient lights blue to reflect winter and nighttime. The space is field with the sounds of a snow storm, to represent the serenity of giving in, and a static drone, coming from the bathtub made to represent the struggle to free yourself, underscored with a faucet a reminder that the tub is freeing over. I wish for the viewer to feel pulled to the bathtub by not only the light but the static noise radiating from the tub, for them to find their way to the figure within, and I want the viewer to feel alone like the figure is unable to live.

I included a link to a drive with photos of the aforementioned inspiration, however this project was from a dark time so trigger warning for blood and mutilation. I am in a much better place now, so no need to worry for my sanity
